Toshimi Kawashita Confirmed to Star in New Drama

Toshimi Kawashita, a member of JO1, has been confirmed to appear in the Monday 10 p.m. drama 『Political Pan』, which will air on Fuji TV starting Wednesday, October 7, 2026.

Toshimi Kawashita will play a supporting role for both the female lead, Yurupan “Yoiko Kisaragi,” and the protagonist, “Masakado Natsume.” He portrays Natsume’s niece, a young man uninterested in politics, who serves as a secretary and operates in Nagatamachi, the political hub of “Nipponia.”

The drama is a comedy thriller genre that involves Yoiko Kisaragi infiltrating the political world to steal illicit political funds, stealing both gold and hearts in the process.

In an official interview, Toshimi Kawashita said, “I am playing the character who is Natsume’s niece as portrayed by Isao Shirō Kōdai, working as his secretary. I act as someone who moves between Yoiko and Natsume, lingering around Natsume’s side. I am honored to work with such outstanding actors, and I will do my best to contribute positively to the show.”

The drama airs every Wednesday from 10 p.m. to 10:54 p.m., featuring an ensemble cast that includes Satomi Sendai, Isao Shirō Kōdai, Toshimi Kawashita (JO1), Yumi Kawai, Kenichi Kawakami, Yoshi O Sakai, Hiroshi Matsumoto, Kazunori Gokai, and Masao Sato.

The script was written by Akiko Noki, renowned for works such as 『Annatural』, 『MIU404』, 『Fence』, and 『Last Mile』. Toshiō Bukuno served as producer, having created shows like 『Fence』 and 『Profit News or Stories of a Faraway War』. Mai Takano handled directing, known for films such as 『My Favorite Flower』 and 『Silling』. The production is a joint effort by Fuji TV and HolyPro.
