Taeyang Confirms 13-Year-Long Solo Comeback with Title Track “ANOTHER DIMENSION”

Taeyang, former member of BIGBANG, has officially announced his solo comeback after 13 years. He shared a Teaser for his new solo album, “ANOTHER DIMENSION,” on his social media accounts, revealing that actress and singer Nana will appear in the music video.

On the 13th, Taeyang (38, real name Choi Seung-hyun) posted two photos on his SNS along with the caption “YOU ARE INVITED TO ANOTHER DIMENSION.” In the images, he stares directly at the camera through a black-and-white backdrop, delivering a powerful presence that dominates the frame.

“ANOTHER DIMENSION” is the title of Taeyang’s upcoming solo studio album. It marks his first solo release in approximately 13 years, since the digital single “Doom Dada” was released in November 2013. The filming for the music video of the album’s Title Track has reportedly been completed recently, with actress and singer Nana playing the female lead. The exact release date has not yet been disclosed.

Taeyang’s entertainment career began in 2006 when he debuted as a member of BIGBANG. However, in 2016, he was prosecuted for smoking marijuana at his residence and sentenced to 10 months in prison with a two-year suspension. He later expressed his intention to retire from the entertainment industry through his personal social media accounts and officially left the group in 2023.

Taeyang’s path back began with acting. He made his comeback to the entertainment world as an actor through Season 2 of Netflix’s original series “Squid Game,” which was released in December 2024. This solo comeback represents his shift toward musical activities following “Squid Game.”

Aside from Taeyang, G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung will perform as part of BIGBANG at the “Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival” in California, USA, in April. This year marks the 20th anniversary of BIGBANG’s debut.
