Rumors of Late Kim Sae-ron’s Relationship with an Idol in 2018 Proven False; Debate Over Timeline with Kim Soo-hyun Continues

Rumors that the late actress Kim Sae-ron had a relationship with an idol in 2018 were raised but later confirmed to be untrue. Initially, there were claims that she came from a seven-member idol group, but these turned out to be unverified false rumors. By Money Today, Kim Sae-ron was said to have been dating a senior idol member named A in 2018 when she was in her final year of high school. This period overlaps with the time the family claims she met Kim Soo-hyun. Kim Sae-ron broke up with A in early 2019 before getting back together in early to mid-2022, during which time A lent her a large sum of money as she faced financial difficulties. The two parted ways in early 2023 but continued to stay in contact until last year. However, the claim that A was part of a seven-member idol group has been confirmed as false. Disputes over the timeline of her relationship with actor Kim Soo-hyun persist between the family and him. Through the YouTube channel “Garoseoro Research Institute,” the family claims Kim Sae-ron was in a romantic relationship with Kim Soo-hyun from late 2015, when she was in the third year of middle school, until July 2021. In contrast, Kim Soo-hyun maintains that they were together for one year, from the summer of 2019 when Kim Sae-ron was an adult until the fall of 2020, showing a significant difference in their accounts. Kim Soo-hyun filed lawsuits for defamation and damages totaling over 11 billion won against the family and Kim Se-ui, the operator of “Garoseoro Research Institute,” and also accused Kim Se-ui of violating the Stalking Punishment Act. Meanwhile, the police are investigating 10 cases related to Kim Sae-ron, with 7 of them reportedly filed by Kim Soo-hyun. Additionally, Kim Soo-hyun has been prosecuted by Kim Sae-ron’s family on charges of violating the Child Welfare Act. Kim Sae-ron passed away on February 16 at the age of 25.
