Netflix’s “K-Pop Demon Hunters” Receives Most Nominations with 13 for 2026 Annie Awards

Netflix’s animated film “K-Pop Demon Hunters” has become the most heavily nominated title at the 2026 Annie Awards, securing 13 nominations. Pixar’s animation “Elio” follows closely behind with 10 nominations, making the competition between these two films a focal point. In addition to “K-Pop Demon Hunters,” other contenders for the Best Animated Feature award include Disney Animation Studios’ “Zootopia 2,” GKIDS’ “Little Amelie or the Character of the Rain,” and DreamWorks’ “The Bad Guys 2.” The independent animation category features films such as “Arco,” “I’m Frankelda,” “Lost In Starlight,” “A Magnificent Life,” and “Scarlet.” The ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 21 at the Royce Hall at UCLA as part of the 53rd Annie Awards. A record 14 out of 23 winners of past Annie Awards’ Best Animated Feature award have subsequently won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, and 7 of the 13 most recent winners have also received an Oscar, highlighting the high credibility of these awards.
