KT Unveils AI-Integrated K-Stadium and K-Pop Dance Challenge at MWC 2025

KT presented a new customer experience zone that integrates artificial intelligence into everyday life at the world’s largest telecommunications exhibition, “MWC 2025,” held in Barcelona, Spain. Through the concept of a futuristic stadium called “K-Stadium” and a K-Pop dance challenge, KT showcased real-world applications of AI technology on the global stage. K-Stadium represents KT’s vision for future stadiums, combining various AI technologies designed to enhance communication between fans and athletes. The AI real-time subtitle translation service converts announcer comments into the desired language instantly for foreign fans inside the stadium. This service was developed by KT DS, KT’s cloud-focused subsidiary. Another key technology is a digital human named “AI Lee Kang-in.” Created using AI based on Lee Kang-in, a national football player sponsored by KT, this digital human delivers welcome messages as if the athlete were speaking personally when visitors enter their names into a kiosk. The AI cheer service enables visitors to create and enjoy customized cheers by utilizing an AI music generation platform. The K-Pop dance challenge is an interactive experience developed in collaboration with Genie Music. After receiving greetings from AI-generated K-Pop dancers, visitors can choose a song and dance alongside AR dancers. An AI avatar is produced by an AI engine that captures images through chroma keying, followed by data collection and synthetic learning, before appearing on stage. Visitors learn dances from the AR dancers based on the selected music, and the movements captured by cameras and sensors are synthesized in real time with the AR dancers’ performances to create a highly realistic experience as if they were on the same stage. KT implemented this experience in about 40 languages to allow visitors worldwide to try it out, offering photo cards and customized personal videos after the experience. KT plans to apply all the services and technologies showcased at K-Stadium at Suwon KT Wiz Park, the home stadium of KT Wiz, KT’s professional baseball team, becoming the first domestic professional sports venue to use them. The company is also considering selecting outstanding AI cheer songs created by fans to be used as official cheers for sports events sponsored by KT. Yoon Tae-sik, executive in charge of KT’s brand strategy, said, “AI should go beyond being merely a technology and become an innovation integrated into daily life that people around the world can experience and enjoy naturally.” He added, “Even after MWC25, we will continue to expand a variety of AI experience contents that allow the public to intuitively experience AI in their everyday lives.”
