JYP, CJ ENM, and Tencent Music Establish Onecead in China to Strengthen K-pop Presence

Major K-pop agency JYP Entertainment and entertainment conglomerate CJ ENM have joined forces with Chinese music giant Tencent Music (TME) to set up a new music company called Onecead in China.
The name Onecead combines JYP Entertainment’s motto “Leader in Entertainment” with CJ ENM’s core value “Only One.” JYP China and CJ ENM will work together with Tencent Music to expand K-pop artists’ reach in the Chinese market.
Onecead was founded through NCC Entertainment. NCC Entertainment is a joint venture established in 2016 by JYP China and Tencent Music Entertainment (TME), and it has previously produced groups such as Boy Story.

The new company will handle management, commercial activities, music production, and event organization, leveraging the K-pop expertise of Korean companies alongside the strong global networks of Chinese firms. Onecead’s first managed group is Modyssey, the winner of Mnet Plus’ survival program “Planet C: Home Race” (2025). Modyssey consists of seven members.
CJ ENM has successfully operated a similar business model in Japan through Lapone Entertainment and has experience managing groups like JO1 and INI. Onecead also plans to expand its comprehensive music business, covering artist development, production, tours, and merchandise sales.
This joint venture reflects Korean entertainment companies’ efforts to strengthen their presence in the Chinese market. Other major K-pop agencies such as HYBE, SM Entertainment, and YG Entertainment are also expanding into China, and experts expect rapid growth in concert ticket sales, album sales, and merchandise sales due to relaxed Chinese regulations on Hallyu content.
