G-Dragon Files Massive Lawsuit Against 100 People for Defamation

Singer G-Dragon has launched a large-scale legal campaign against users who post malicious comments, accusing them of defamation. His agency, Galaxy Corporation, stated that it has filed lawsuits against over 100 such commenters based on evidence gathered through fan reports and its own monitoring efforts.

The agency explained that it is working closely with law firm Yulchon to pursue strong legal action regarding the malicious posts, which include defamation, dissemination of false information, malicious slander, and violations of personal rights against G-Dragon. Investigative authorities have identified multiple suspects through searches of online communities and social media platforms, and these suspects have been transferred to the local police stations in their respective areas for further investigation.

Some suspects have already admitted to the charges, and their investigations are complete; they have since been referred to the prosecution. Active investigations continue for those who deny the allegations at the police stage.

The agency requested understanding, explaining that under current circumstances where cases are being sent to the prosecution, information that could identify suspects is difficult to disclose due to privacy laws and investigative procedures. It added that it plans to gradually expand civil and criminal measures to protect artists’ rights in the future. Meanwhile, G-Dragon recently concluded his first solo fan meeting and is set to resume activities with BIGBANG, which celebrated its 20th anniversary this year. The members of BIGBANG will perform at the major music festival “Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival” in Indio, California, in April.
