Choi Ye-na Releases Her Fifth Mini-Album “LOVE CATCHER”

Choi Ye-na has released her fifth mini-album, “LOVE CATCHER.” The title track, “Catch Catch,” portrays the tug-of-war between love and distance through her unique charm, featuring collaborations from various artists such as DeenDeen, Jung Hyung-don, and Paul Kim.

On the 11th, a press conference to commemorate the release of Choi Ye-na’s fifth mini-album was held at the new CGV theater in Apgujeong, Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The title track “Catch Catch” combines a highly addictive melody with energetic beats, delivering a lively portrayal of the tension in a relationship where one party chases and the other flees.

Choi Ye-na expressed her excitement about returning to music by saying, “I’ve been waiting for this moment for so long that eight months felt like an eternity.” She added, “Expect to see not only an addictive melody but also a more mature version of myself with an even deeper, more intriguing charm.” Regarding the title track, she described her immediate reaction, saying, “The moment I first heard this song, my body moved before my words could speak.”

Jung Hyung-don’s feature participation has drawn attention. Choi Ye-na mentioned, “Uncle Jung Hyung-don came to the recording studio on the day of recording and wrote the lyrics right there, and they turned out to be incredibly stylish and beautiful.” She expressed her gratitude for his impromptu lyric writing, saying, “They were so amazing that I couldn’t stop marveling at them.”

She also noted, “In my previous album ‘Neomoneomo,’ Uncle Park Myung-soo appeared in the music video, while this time Uncle Jung Hyung-don contributed as a feature.” She explained that while her earlier work “Neomoneomo” expressed feelings of first love, this album presents a more mature perspective on love.

In addition to the title track, the album includes five other songs: “It’s Spring, So I Fall (Feat. DeenDeen, Jung Hyung-don),” “Sticker (Feat. Yoon Machi (MRCH)),” “Cat of April,” and “Question Mark (Feat. Paul Kim).” She revealed that she personally wrote the guides for each song and was involved in their production. Choi Ye-na added, “These are songs we created together from scratch—up to 100%, and I even wrote the lyrics myself.”

Choi Ye-na aims to further define her musical style, known as “Ye-na Core,” by incorporating her own quirky sensibilities and honest storytelling. “LOVE CATCHER” is her new release, coming approximately eight months after her fourth mini-album “Blooming Wings,” which was released in July of last year.
