'KPop Demon Hunters' 'Golden' Claims 7 Consecutive Billboard No. 1 Spots…Dominates Oscar, Grammy, and BRIT Award Stages

The original soundtrack for Netflix’s animated film "KPop Demon Hunters" is dominating the global music market. HUNTR/X’s "Golden" has proven its strength by holding the top spot on the Billboard Top Movie Songs chart for seven consecutive months.

After reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for eight weeks in mid-2025, "Golden" recorded 9.9 million streams and 23,000 downloads in January 2026 alone. The film’s soundtrack album also topped the Billboard 200 chart for two straight weeks, with all seven tracks from the soundtrack currently included on the Top Movie Songs chart.

The success of "KPop Demon Hunters" is extending to international film festivals and music awards. At the 2026 Oscar ceremony, "Golden" received a nomination for Best Original Song. Out of the five nominated songs from the film, only "Golden" and "I Lied to You" (from Sinners) were selected to be performed live. Oscar organizers stated in a statement that these two tracks "played a defining role in the film’s global cultural impact and connection with audiences in 2026."

"Golden" also holds a high status in the UK. EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami performed "Golden" on the BRIT Awards stage, marking the first time K-POP artists have appeared on this award show. HUNTR/X was nominated for two awards: Best International Group and International Song ("Golden"). During the performance held outside Manchester Co-op Live, the three vocalists took turns singing different sections of the song before joining together in the finale, with fireworks exploding behind them to create a spectacular display.

"KPop Demon Hunters" has also received a historic nomination at the Grammy Awards. "Golden" is nominated for Record of the Year, while the animated film is up for Best Animated Feature. A performance of "Golden" is scheduled for the Oscar ceremony on March 15.
