JYP Approved for New Headquarters Building... A Cultural Hub Featuring an 800-Seat Concert Hall

The Gangdong-gu district in Seoul has granted approval for JYP Entertainment to build a new headquarters. According to the Gangdong-gu government on the 16th, the building, which received construction permits on the 15th, will be constructed in the Godeok Business Valley area and is expected to serve as a hub that integrates the K-pop industry with local culture.

The JYP new headquarters is planned to cover a total floor area of 69,259㎡, with 5 underground floors and 17 above ground. It obtained construction permits after going through a traffic impact assessment and reviews by the Architecture and Landscape Joint Committee last year. Construction is set to begin in the second half of the year once additional procedures such as an underground safety impact assessment are completed.

The new building will include entertainment facilities such as large rehearsal rooms and a main auditorium for the company’s artists, along with office spaces for employees. In particular, the public area will feature a concert hall capable of holding around 800 people, as well as photo zones, creating cultural and leisure spaces accessible to both residents and tourists.

Gangdong-gu plans to develop the Godeok Business Valley area around the JYP new headquarters into a key hub that combines culture and tourism. The district aims to attract more domestic and international visitors, including K-pop fans, by organizing various cultural programs and events.

Gangdong-gu Mayor Lee Soo-hee said, “During the construction of the JYP new headquarters, we will prioritize the convenience for residents and harmony with the local environment, ensuring the space becomes a place where everyone can visit and stay without any barriers.”
