Hanroro Tops Streaming Charts in First Half of 2026

According to streaming data from the first half of 2026, “Landing in Love” and “0+0” by rock musician Hanroro, who has been active for three years since his Debut, ranked first and second respectively on Circle Chart’s top 200 streaming list for that period. This outcome means that no songs by idol groups affiliated with HYBE, SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, or YG Entertainment made it into the top five.

Reasons Behind Hanroro’s Rising Popularity Hanroro wrote the lyrics to all 31 of his songs, with the word “day” appearing a total of 15 times in five of them. His music features self-narrative lyrics centered on themes such as anxiety, survival, and youth, resonating deeply with listeners. In particular, there is an increasing trend among students facing stress during college entrance preparation to choose Hanroro’s songs to sing in music tutoring classes.

New Demand in Music Tutoring Classes Last spring, Lee, a vocal instructor at a private music tutoring school near Seoul, received a call from a student’s parent. The student was under significant stress due to the college entrance process and was preparing to try again after dropping out of college earlier. Although Lee provided a list of songs suitable for audition preparation, the student insisted, “I want to sing with these lyrics. ‘I won’t leave you. Isn’t it just like what you think?’” These were lyrics from Hanroro’s song “0+0.”

Streaming Records and Trends “0+0” was released in 2023 and reached its highest streaming numbers two years later in 2025. It is classified as a sleeper hit, having received little attention initially but gaining widespread appeal over time. Circle Chart uses data from January to June 2026, incorporating information from seven major music platforms including Melon, Genie Music, and Spotify.

Musical Style and Listener Reactions Hanroro’s music focuses on delivering genuine emotional expression rather than showcasing vocal skills. Lee explained, “Hanroro’s songs are not suitable as material to demonstrate vocal range or instrumental technique. However, listeners find comfort in his music.” Listeners in their 20s and 50s both noted that Hanroro’s lyrics convey “being together” rather than a promise that “things will get better.”
