ENHYPEN’s Heeseung Makes New Start as EVAN; Solo Debut Set for February 22

Heeseung, formerly part of ENHYPEN, will make his solo debut on February 22 by releasing the digital single “RIDE OR DIE” under his new stage name EVAN. This marks his first album as a solo artist, approximately three months after leaving the group.

Billlieffrap, his agency, revealed on the 11th that EVAN was directly involved in every aspect of the single’s production, including writing lyrics and music as well as handling visual creative work. “RIDE OR DIE” is an idiom meaning “to stick together to the end,” and EVAN plans to outline his future musical direction through this track, which reflects his personal emotional depth.

The single features two tracks that showcase both his delicate sensibility and intense energy. The concept poster released at noon on the 11th displayed an image that conveyed a sharp charisma alongside a calm allure.

Heeseung debuted in 2020 with the group ENHYPEN and gained popularity through songs like “Polaroid Love,” “No Dawt,” and “Byte Me.” However, he decided to leave the group in March last year due to differences in musical aspirations. At the time, he explained his decision by saying, “There was so much I wanted to show, but I also didn’t want to prioritize only my own ambitions within the group.”

Having prepared for his solo career under the same agency, Billlieffrap, Heeseung now declares musical independence using his new stage name EVAN. This new name holds precious memories from his childhood, and his solo debut symbolizes a new starting point for his music career.

He will release the digital single “RIDE OR DIE” on February 22.
