Cytogen Exits CEO Sharing Structure, Appoints Ahn Ji-hoon as Sole Representative to Drive Global Precision Medicine Platform

Ahn Ji-hoon has taken over as the sole representative of Cytogen, a company specializing in liquid biopsy. By shifting to this management structure, the firm aims to simplify its decision-making process to enhance execution speed and accelerate development of future growth initiatives.

Cytogen has expanded its presence in the precision diagnostics market by focusing on a CTC (circulating tumor cell)-based liquid biopsy platform. It has been steadily expanding its overseas operations, particularly in Japan, where it successfully generated initial revenue through collaboration projects with major national cancer institutions, thereby establishing a solid foundation for global business.

While further refining its existing CTC business, the company is also making serious efforts to secure new sources of growth. To this end, it plans to establish a new biorobotics division, expand into precision and regenerative medicine, and broaden its infertility solution services via its subsidiary, GenomCare.

The newly created biorobotics division represents next-generation business models that integrate cell-based diagnostic technologies with automation platform expertise. It is intended to serve as a key driver for improving research efficiency alongside diagnostic accuracy. In the field of precision and regenerative medicine, the company is building an integrated value chain that spans from diagnosis to treatment, while also expanding its business portfolio through GenomCare’s infertility solution services. Cytogen aims to transform from a company centered solely on CTC technology into a platform enterprise with multiple growth pillars.
