Kwon Kyung-ha Reveals She Was G-Dragon’s Middle School Homeroom Teacher... “He Was Exceptionally Talented”

Actor Kwon Kyung-ha has disclosed for the first time that she was the homeroom teacher for singer G-Dragon during his middle school years. Appearing on the YouTube channel “Lazy Rabbit” recently, Kwon Kyung-ha recalled her teaching career and detailed her connection with G-Dragon from their school days.

Kwon Kyung-ha described her experience, saying, “When I first started teaching at Seoul Traditional Arts Middle School (now the National Traditional Arts Middle School), I taught a student named Kwon Ji-yong from the first to the third grade of middle school. I was his homeroom teacher.” She remembered G-Dragon by saying, “He already had immense talent and stood out greatly at that time.” She added, “It seems he was exceptional from the first grade, extremely talented, and different from others.”

G-Dragon’s talent was clearly evident in the school’s stage performances. Kwon Kyung-ha recalled, “Whenever there was a school event, he would always perform breakdancing on stage.” He performed with a friend, and according to Kwon Kyung-ha, that friend seemed to be Taeyang. She explained, “The two of them performed songs and dances together, and they participated in performances very diligently for three years.”

Beyond stage performances, they also joined together in school productions. Kwon Kyung-ha and G-Dragon created a work titled “The Day of Getting Married.” Kwon Kyung-ha praised him, saying, “That friend was also extremely good at acting.” She emphasized that G-Dragon showed outstanding talent in both acting and stage performance from his student days.

Around the time he entered high school, G-Dragon left the Traditional Arts Middle School. Kwon Kyung-ha explained, “He transferred schools around the first grade of high school because he had to be active in many activities.” This meant G-Dragon moved schools as he began his full-scale entertainment career.

Even during middle school, G-Dragon was already a standout student at school. Kwon Kyung-ha stressed, “In fact, he was already G-Dragon back then. Many people might not know this, but he was a famous student at school.” She added, “He had charm and talent from the first grade.” Kwon Kyung-ha remembered that G-Dragon’s fashion sense was distinctly different from that of his peers even during his student days. She shared her thoughts by saying, “It seems those who are meant to become stars were different from others since childhood.”

Kwon Kyung-ha expressed pride as she watches G-Dragon’s success today. She said, “When I watch TV and see him, I feel proud, and I have my own special memory of having seen him when he was very young.” Through a video message to her former student, Kwon Kyung-ha said, “I’m really happy that you’ve grown into such an amazing person. Even though we haven’t seen each other for a long time, I’ll always be cheering for you.”
