Stray Kids Release 8-Track Mini Album “THIS & THAT”

Stray Kids have released their 8-track mini album “THIS & THAT.” The title track, “RUN IT,” was composed and produced by the group’s self-produced unit 3RACHA, consisting of Bang Chan, Changbin, and HAN, and it was made available at midnight.

All members of Stray Kids, including Bang Chan, Changbin, I.N, Felix, Lee Know, Hyunjin, and Seungmin, attended a press conference held at the Conrad Seoul hotel in Seoul. The conference took place on Thursday, one day before the album’s release, and the members, dressed in suits, provided detailed explanations about the album’s production process and musical direction.

Changbin described the significance of this comeback by saying, “A long time has passed since our last comeback, and every part of the schedule fills me with excitement.” He also emphasized the connection to their fans by stating, “I want to capture the energy from our performance in Seoul last month in this album.”

The musical style of the title track “RUN IT” differs from the group’s previous singles. Changbin explained, “This time we moved in a different direction, aiming for a calmer and more accessible sound.” He stressed that they tried to remove rough and unfamiliar elements to create a song that is easier for listeners to connect with. Regarding the production process, he added, “The chorus was completed quickly, and I kept humming it even while preparing the choreography. Since the members responded positively, I could approach it with confidence.”

This deliberate shift in musical direction demonstrates Stray Kids’ growth. Changbin said, “We could have repeated what worked before, but we chose to take a new path.” HAN also hinted that they strived not to repeat the same approach in their new work.

Stray Kids have previous achievements that reflect their musical status. Last year, the group became the first artist to have eight consecutive number-one entries on the Billboard 200 with their mixtape “DO IT.” This record is a notable accomplishment in modern pop music history. The newly released album “THIS & THAT” builds upon that success, further solidifying Stray Kids’ musical presence in the global K-POP market.
