Seoul Economic Promotion Agency Hosts ‘DDP SeoulCon’ with 3,500 Global Influencer Teams Participating

The Seoul Economic Promotion Agency will hold ‘2024 SeoulCon’ at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Jung-gu, Seoul, from December 28 through January 1, 2025. This second edition of SeoulCon functions as a global influencers’ exhibition that showcases Seoul’s creative industries such as beauty, fashion, content, and gaming. A total of 3,500 influencer teams from over 50 countries worldwide, boasting combined subscribers totaling 3 billion, will participate in this year’s event. Compared to last year’s inaugural event which attracted 102,000 visitors, the scale has expanded further this time with an additional 500 influencer teams joining. SeoulCon is an event where global influencers directly experience Seoul’s lifestyle trends including K-pop, K-beauty, and K-fashion, and then create and share content based on those experiences, featuring a total of 25 diverse programs. The highlight of the event will be the SeoulCon World K-pop Festival & Countdown on the 31st. Zico and Dynamic Duo will serve as headliners, with K-pop stars such as Baekho, Changmo, Billlie, and SeiMyName also performing. Among the global influencers featured are China’s live commerce star ‘Dong Xuesheng’, Russia’s model and influencer ‘Dasha Taran’, and Japanese comedian ‘Uekusa Kazuhiisa’. The Seoul Economic Promotion Agency has significantly strengthened new programs tailored for influencers. The ‘Global Influencer × Corporate Live Commerce’ program helps influencers promote products from Seoul’s small and medium-sized enterprises to expand their sales channels. Additionally, the ‘Creator Stadium’ was developed in collaboration with influencer platforms like Creator Aby, Sandbox Network, and News, and consists of 9 practical sessions including award ceremonies, seminars, performances, and fan meetings. The global expansion of K-pop, K-beauty, and K-fashion is also a key focus. Programs such as ‘Platform by MUSINSA’ in partnership with the domestic fashion platform MUSINSA, the new concept runway ‘Runway to Seoul’ that combines K-fashion with beauty and entertainment, and ‘K-Beauty Boost’ featuring 15 representative Korean K-beauty brands have been organized. Furthermore, events such as the domestic integrated drama awards ‘2024 SEOULCON APAN STAR AWARDS’, the ‘LCK Award’ to promote South Korea’s professional esports, and the final match of the League of Legends tournament ‘MKSI2024’ hosted by streamer Kim Min-gyo from the live platform SOOP will take place. The Seoul Economic Promotion Agency stated, “We hope SeoulCon will spread Seoul’s charm around the world and establish itself as a representative event for all citizens to enjoy.”
