Seonghwa Selected as Olympic Torchbearer; ENHYPEN’s “Shout Out” Chosen as Official Cheer Song

Seonghwa, a member of ENHYPEN, has been chosen as a torchbearer for the 2026 Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics. Meanwhile, ENHYPEN’s song “Shout Out” was designated as the official cheer song for the South Korean Olympic team.

Seonghwa is a former member of the national figure skating reserve team. He began competing in figure skating seriously in 2010 and won multiple medals in events such as the Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy and the Lombardy Trophy in the novice and junior categories. After ten years as an athlete, he ended his competitive career in early 2020 to debut with ENHYPEN. Seonghwa recalled, “It was a bit sad to stop skating, but I had a new dream and felt I needed to give it my best effort.”

Selected as a torchbearer at the recommendation of Samsung Electronics, the official Olympic sponsor, Seonghwa said, “I deeply understand the passion and hard work of the athletes who have trained for the Olympics, which gives me great motivation to support them.” He also added, “My dream when I was an athlete was to compete in the Olympics, and I’m happy to have realized that dream as a singer.” The specific locations and schedule for the torch relay have not been disclosed.

Seonghwa has been serving as an ambassador for the Korean Sports Association since last year. ENHYPEN’s “Shout Out” is included on their third mini-album, “Manifesto: Day One,” released in 2022. This song was chosen as the official cheer song for Team Korea, the South Korean national team at the 2026 Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics. The Korean Sports Association also released a cheer challenge video using this song, with Ambassador Seonghwa demonstrating the cheering gestures himself.

Seonghwa is the second K-pop artist to serve as an Olympic torchbearer. Jin of BTS previously carried the torch at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The 2026 Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics will open on February 6.
