Rosé Nominated for Brit Awards’ “Song of the Year (International)” – First K-Pop Artist to Achieve This

Rosé has been nominated for the “Song of the Year (International)” category at the 46th Brit Awards. She received this nomination for her collaboration with pop star Bruno Mars titled “APT.”

Rosé has set a historic record as the first and only K-Pop artist to be nominated for the Brit Awards both as part of BLACKPINK and as a solo artist. BLACKPINK was nominated for “Group of the Year (International),” while Rosé herself received a nomination for “Song of the Year (International).”

The 46th Brit Awards will be held on March 1 (Korean time) at Co-op Live in Manchester, UK. This marks the first time in the ceremony’s nearly 50-year history that it takes place outside of London.

“Golden,” a track by the fictional girl group HUNTRIX — the theme song for KPop Demon Hunters — is also nominated for “Song of the Year (International)” alongside Rosé, creating a friendly competition between the two songs. HUNTRIX has additionally been nominated for “Group of the Year (International).”

Notably, EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and REI AMI will perform on stage at this awards show to present “Golden.” This will be the first time in Brit Awards history that a K-Pop-related performance takes place on the main stage.

K-Pop artists have had a relatively short history of being nominated for the Brit Awards. BTS was nominated for “Group of the Year (International)” in 2021 and 2022 but failed to win. BLACKPINK received a nomination in the same category in 2023 without success. In 2024, Peggy Gou, a South Korean-born global DJ and producer, was nominated for “Song of the Year (International)” but did not win.

Rosé’s “APT” has achieved consecutive successes at international awards recently. It became the first K-Pop artist to win the Song of the Year award at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards. “Golden” won the “Best Song Written for Visual Media” category at the 68th Grammy Awards.
