Proving Global Influence While on Military Service: Jimin Wins 10 Awards in 2024 Global Voting and Exceeds 200 Million Spotify Streams

BTS’s Jimin has demonstrated immense global influence even while serving in the military, further elevating the status of K-pop idols. According to the results of the “Dabeme Top 100” poll released by the global online fan voting site Dabeme Pop, Jimin secured victories in a total of 10 categories. He claimed 8 individual awards, including “Best K-POP Center,” “Most Beautiful/Good-looking Appearance,” “Most Handsome Face in K-pop,” “Best Vocalist in K-pop,” “Best Composer in K-pop,” “Best Dancer in K-pop,” “Best Member in K-pop,” and “2024 K-pop Artist.” He also won in the “Best K-pop Album” category for his album *MUSE* and in the “Best K-pop Song” category for “Who,” achieving a record of 10 awards in total. It is highly unusual for a single artist to dominate all categories, clearly illustrating the “Jimin Power” among K-pop fans. Jimin’s global influence is also evident on Spotify. The track “Be Mine” from his second album *MUSE* surpassed 200 million streams on Spotify on January 30. This achievement follows “Like Crazy,” which reached 1.328 billion streams, and “Who,” which has over 1.42 billion streams. Considering that “Like Crazy” was the first Korean solo artist’s song to top Billboard’s Hot 100, it shows that Jimin’s solo tracks possess strong competitiveness on global charts. In particular, Jimin’s total streaming count on his personal Spotify profile has exceeded 6.2 billion. His first solo album achieved such results despite only just over ten days of official promotion, and even during his military service break, his second album’s tracks continue to receive widespread popularity in the global streaming market. This proves both the fans’ unwavering support throughout his military service and Jimin’s deep-rooted global influence, further raising expectations for his future activities after he returns from service.
