NewJeans Unveils First Content for 4th Anniversary... Spotify Streams Exceed 300 Million

NewJeans has released new content to mark their 4th anniversary since Debut. On the global streaming platform Spotify, their latest single “How Sweet” has surpassed 300 million streams, demonstrating their continued dominance despite a long hiatus.

As of the 25th, “How Sweet,” the Title Track of NewJeans’ latest release, had accumulated 302,621,520 plays. Released on May 24, 2024, this track features a lively hip-hop style based on Miami Bass. Right after its release, it topped various major domestic music charts such as Melon, Genie, and Bugs, and entered the U.S. Billboard “Global 200” chart for 13 consecutive weeks. It also ranked 7th on YouTube Korea’s list of “Most Popular Songs of the Year.”

Global acclaim followed swiftly. The song was included in Rolling Stone’s “Best Songs of 2024” and selected as one of “Best K-Pop Songs of 2024” by PopMatters, Billboard, and NME in the UK.

NewJeans’ overall streaming performance is even more impressive. According to Spotify, the total cumulative streams for all their songs approach 8 billion. “Ditto” and “OMG” each have over 900 million streams, “Super Shy” has over 800 million, and “Hype Boy” has over 700 million. “NewJeans” and “Attention” have each recorded over 500 million streams, while “ETA” has over 400 million. “Hurt,” “Cool With You,” and “Supernatural” each have over 200 million streams, and “ASAP,” “Get Up,” “Bubble Gum,” and “Right Now” each have over 100 million streams, showing that all of their tracks maintain high streaming numbers.

ADOR released the video “2026 Summer of NewJeans Behind the Scenes” on the official NewJeans YouTube channel on the 24th. The video captures the four members—Minzy, Hanni, Hyein, and Haerin—filming content for their 4th anniversary in Los Angeles, USA. This is the first time the group has been seen together in about a year following their legal dispute with ADOR.

During filming, Minzy took charge of the team and cared for her fellow members. When Hanni tried to tune her guitar, Minzy first checked on her by asking, “Aren’t you cold?” Seeing Hanni frustrated because the tuning wasn’t working, Minzy encouraged her by saying, “You sound like a really soulful guitarist.” While Hanni continued playing guitar for the shoot, Minzy stayed behind after finishing her own scenes to watch until Hanni’s final shot was completed. Reflecting on the filming, Hanni expressed gratitude for Minzy’s support by saying, “Minzy came to see me.”

Minzy’s individual shooting scene involved her driving a vehicle in Los Angeles, USA. As the car moved, she couldn’t hide her excitement by saying, “I’m driving in LA!” After the shoot, Minzy thanked Hanni by saying, “Thank you so much for being my personal assistant today,” and the two smiled together, saying, “It was really fun. See you next time.”

ADOR remains cautious about announcing a comeback schedule. ADOR’s representatives stated, “NewJeans’ specific activity plans and methods will be announced after full discussions with the members are completed.”
