NewJeans Resumes Group Activities for First Time in 1 Year and 4 Months to Celebrate 4th Anniversary as a Four-Member Unit

ADOR, the agency representing NewJeans, released official videos and photos to mark the group’s 4th anniversary. This marks the first time the group has resumed collective activities in 1 year and 4 months, signaling a new beginning for the group under its four-member lineup after a period of inactivity.

On July 21 or 22, ADOR shared new photos and a special film through official channels. The content features the four members—Hyein, Haerin, Hani, and Minzy—in fresh Y2K-themed imagery. Fans paid close attention to this release, as it was the first time NewJeans had produced and unveiled new group content in 1 year and 4 months.

In the released videos and photos, Minzy, Hani, Haerin, and Hyein maintained their striking visuals, with Haerin drawing particular attention for her more mature demeanor. Online discussions arose as her canines, which have been a signature feature of hers since her debut, appeared less prominent than before. Online communities and social media platforms saw various reactions such as “Her aura has become more mature,” “Her appearance looks different without her canines,” and “Her neat teeth stand out.”

ADOR explained the release of this content by saying, “It reflects the desire of fans who have waited for so long and the members who want to celebrate their debut day together.” They added, “We hope the Bunnies will enjoy it with enthusiasm.” Regarding specific plans for future activities, ADOR stated, “We plan to announce them after final discussions are completed,” hinting at upcoming official activities.

NewJeans debuted in August 2022 as a five-member group under the production of former ADOR CEO Minhee Jin. Their debut tracks “Attention,” “Hype Boy,” and “Cookie” achieved immediate success, with “Hype Boy” setting a record as the K-POP girl group track with the most plays at the time. In 2023, they reached the top of the Billboard 200 with the album *Get Up*, which included “Super Shy” and “ETA,” and became the first K-POP girl group to perform at Lollapalooza in the United States. They also became the first K-POP girl group to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify.

The situation changed dramatically in 2024 when HYBE began investigating Minhee Jin. During a public YouTube live stream, all five members demanded her reinstatement and raised issues related to workplace harassment and unauthorized disclosure of personal information. The group made it clear they would not return to ADOR without Minhee Jin. After Minhee Jin stepped down as CEO of ADOR in early 2025, NewJeans officially ceased activities. During this time, the group’s collective activities were completely halted, with members focusing only on individual projects or solo activities.

Former member Danielle left the group at the end of 2025 after parting ways with ADOR and is currently pursuing a lawsuit against the agency.
