NewJeans’ Minzy in “Positive Discussions” with ADOR

ADOR, the agency managing NewJeans, posted a message on its official social media account on the 7th to congratulate member Minzy on her birthday, hinting at the possibility of her return. The agency stated that discussions with Minzy are progressing in a generally positive direction.

NewJeans went through a legal dispute with its agency last year, after which member Danielle received notice of contract termination and left the group. The remaining members—Hanni, Hyein, and Haerin—returned to ADOR, but Minzy’s status had not been finalized up to that point. ADOR remained silent for several months regarding the status of negotiations with Minzy.

Hanni, Hyein, and Haerin recently visited Copenhagen, Denmark, and completed pre-production work to develop a new musical narrative. ADOR explained that the members are preparing for future activities based on their current conditions and schedules optimized for each individual.

Signs of Minzy’s potential return were observed in the social media post from the 7th. NewJeans’ official social media account shared a photo showing Minzy baking cookies to give to fans, along with the caption “HAPPY MINJI DAY.” The main page of NewJeans’ Weverse account also displayed an image celebrating Minzy’s birthday.

This post attracted attention because it was posted on ADOR’s official account, run by the agency rather than Minzy’s personal social media account. It is interpreted as either ADOR staff filming Minzy baking the cookies or Minzy sending the photos herself, indicating that communication between her and the agency is ongoing.

ADOR officially stated that it continues to discuss Minzy’s future status internally regarding group activities. The agency added that it plans to announce details about the members’ future plans at the most appropriate time.

NewJeans will celebrate its 4th anniversary in July, with the group currently preparing to return as a trio of Hanni, Hyein, and Haerin.
