Mark Ends 10-Year NCT Career as His Contract with SM Expires

Mark is concluding his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment and bringing to an end his activities as part of NCT. SM announced that after extensive discussions regarding his future career path, both parties agreed to terminate his exclusive contract effective April 8, 2026.

The 26-year-old Korean-Canadian artist has been active within NCT for 10 years since the group’s Debut in 2016. As a member of NCT 127, he performed alongside Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jisung, Jungwoo, and Haechan. He also served as Leader of NCT DREAM, guiding Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Rowoon, and Jaehyun. Prior to joining NCT, Mark underwent training in SM’s pre-debut group known as SM Rookies.

With Mark’s departure, the NCT lineup will be restructured. NCT 127 will continue as a seven-member group consisting of Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jisung, Jungwoo, and Haechan. NCT DREAM will remain active with its six members: Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Rowoon, and Jaehyun.

SM expressed gratitude for Mark’s contributions, stating, “We are sincerely thankful to Mark for demonstrating outstanding talent and versatility throughout his 10-year career, and we fully support him as he embarks on a new chapter.”
