Lisa Transcends Being “Part of BLACKPINK” with Solo Performance at Coachella

Lisa, a member of BLACKPINK, delivered a powerful solo performance on the Stage 1 of the 2025 Coachella Festival Weekend. Two years after BLACKPINK became the first K-POP group to headline Coachella in 2023, Lisa and Jennie took the stage as solo artists. This move reflects their outstanding achievements in solo careers, along with their recent album releases and forays into acting. Lisa vividly brought to life the concept of her February release studio album “Alter Ego” on stage. By alternating between various characters featured in the album, she strongly demonstrated that she is an independent artist rather than just part of BLACKPINK. Videos played intermittently during the performance created a visual effect where the audience seemed to choose which character they wanted to see, similar to selecting a game character. As the “Sunni” character, she performed “Moonlight Floor” wearing sparkling outfits that gave her a fairy-like appearance. As the “Speedi” character, she donned a red star-patterned top and shorts, performing “Elastigirl” and “Money” while delivering intense choreography alongside dancers. After performing “Lifestyle” as the “Roxi” character, she concluded the show with “Rockstar.” Lisa recently portrayed Mook, a health mentor and longtime acquaintance of the security guard Gaetok, in Season 3 of HBO’s popular drama “The White Lotus.” On stage, she joked to the audience that she was showing them what Mook looks like when he is not working. Despite the focus on new songs, Lisa also performed her past solo tracks “Money” and “Lalisa,” along with BLACKPINK’s hit songs. Particularly, enthusiastic reactions from the crowd followed every time a BLACKPINK song was played. Lisa’s solo performance at Coachella was a successful show that demonstrated her solid standing as a solo artist who has built her own distinct musical world.
