Lisa to Perform on ‘Goals’ Stage at 2026 FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony

BLACKPINK’s Lisa will take the stage at the 2026 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony with the official soundtrack track “Goals.” This makes her the second K-pop artist to receive this honor, following Jung Kook who performed “Dreamers” at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, becoming the first Korean singer to deliver an official FIFA World Cup anthem.

“Goals” was released on May 21 as part of the tournament’s official album. It is a track that blends Latin pop, K-pop, and Afrobeat, featuring multilingual lyrics and Afro-inspired percussion. The song was produced by Grammy-winning artist Cirkut alongside Bava, PinkSlip, and Tropkillaz, with Brazilian pop star Anitta and Nigerian singer Rema appearing as guests. It stands out as the most prominent K-pop track associated with the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Lisa will perform “Goals” at the 2026 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony held on Friday at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. She will share the stage with pop singer Katy Perry and Paraguayan artist Marilina Bogado. As one of the most recognized stars in global K-pop, Lisa will deliver through “Goals” the most visible contribution of K-pop to this year’s tournament.

The FIFA World Cup is held every four years, attracting billions of viewers worldwide. The tournament has long inspired musicians to create official FIFA anthems, national team songs, and unofficial tributes. K-pop is gaining increasing visibility within this tradition, with multiple K-pop artists releasing tracks for this year’s jointly hosted World Cup in North America (the United States, Canada, and Mexico).

TWS, the boy group under Pledis Entertainment, will release “Dream With Us” on Thursday, one day before the World Cup opens. Although it is not part of the FIFA official soundtrack, it was created to support the South Korean men’s football team. The song carries the message that “miracles begin when we believe together,” celebrating the younger generation’s pursuit of shared dreams. TWS was appointed as an ambassador for the Korean Football Association in October 2025.
