Kim Pil Releases “Dry Flower,” Exploring Emotions with Actor Park Hee-soon

Kim Pil, under the WAKEONE label, has released his new digital single “Dry Flower.” This track reinterprets the meaning of beauty, which is difficult to define, through Kim Pil’s unique perspective. It is a mid-tempo jazz-pop piece in the style of bossa nova, characterized by gentle instrumentation and restrained emotionality, creating a profound lingering effect. The song calmly captures the traces of emotions that remain over time rather than focusing on superficial glories, addressing feelings that once seemed desolate without ignoring them.

Actor Park Hee-soon appears in the music video, further deepening the emotional atmosphere of the track. Set in a space filled with the chill of early winter, the film-like scenes unfold alongside lyrics such as “I tried hard to ignore my heart / I refused to face myself,” adding layers of depth and resonance.

While “HAPPY END,” released in September, offered comfort within everyday life, “Dry Flower” is expected to delve even deeper into one’s inner self, allowing listeners to quietly reflect on their own emotions and memories. Following the release, Kim Pil will hold his year-end solo concert “FLOW” at Ticketlink 1975 Theater in Seoul from December 13 to 14.
