K-POP Mixed-Gender Group KARD Officially Dissolves After 9 Years of Activity

KARD, a rare mixed-gender group in K-POP history, is concluding its 9-year career. On July 6, DSP Media issued an official statement announcing that, following careful discussions with all four members, the group has decided to end its journey with the release of its first full-length album and a world tour.

Since its Debut in 2017, KARD has maintained a unique identity as one of the few mixed-gender groups in the K-POP industry. Throughout its 9-year career, it released only mini-albums and EPs, without issuing any pure full-length albums. Now, KARD will bring this chapter to a close with its first and final full-length album.

DSP Media stated, “Through careful discussions with all members, we mutually agreed that this album and tour will mark the end of KARD’s journey.”

The title of KARD’s full-length album is “Where To Now? (Part.2): NOWHERE,” and it will be released on July 28, 2026, at 6 p.m. KST on global streaming platforms. This album serves as the conclusion to the “Where To Now?” series.

While “Where To Now? (Part.1: Yellow Light)” released in August 2024 posed open questions about the group’s future, “NOWHERE” represents the answers and closure to that journey. The album is described as containing the truths discovered through 9 years of music and performances.

Following the album release, KARD will embark on its final world tour titled “Now Here.” The tour will begin with a concert in Seoul in August before expanding to three continents. DSP Media said, “The members have dedicated themselves fully to preparing for this album and tour, hoping that this final activity will become a precious memory for fans.”

The agency expressed gratitude to the fanbase named “Hidden KARD” and asked fans to continue sending love and support until the very end. It also requested that fans keep loving the members as they begin new chapters in their lives.

KARD held a special place among K-POP’s mixed-gender groups, as groups consisting of male and female idols are extremely rare due to genre-specific challenges and complexities related to contracts and activities. KARD was an exceptional case that managed to sustain activity for 9 years despite these constraints. Now, it will conclude this chapter of history through its album and tour.
