JYP’s Girl Group YGAESET Included in Billboard’s “21 Under 21” List

JYP’s global girl group YGAESET has made it onto Billboard’s “21 Under 21” list, which features the most influential artists under 21 years old. This list is a highly respected compilation that annually selects 21 emerging artists under 21 who are exerting influence in the global music industry.

Billboard announced this year’s selection on its official website on July 31 (local time). YGAESET was recognized for its various musical achievements in this selection. Billboard noted that the group “proved its unique presence by releasing the remix track ‘Little Miss’ featuring global hip-hop artist Missy Elliott, as well as ‘Tweak,’ which entered Billboard’s ‘Digital Song Sales’ chart.”

The members’ direct involvement in music production was also a key factor in their selection. Billboard emphasized that “the members actively participate in songwriting, helping to develop their own distinct musical style.” This assessment acknowledges that YGAESET is more than just a performance group—it is an artist that engages in creative work.

YGAESET began its new musical activities last month on the 17th with the release of its new single “CHAT” along with the title track of the same name. To promote this Comeback, the group conducted intensive promotions across North America and South Korea.

In North America, large-scale fan interaction events were held. On July 11 and 13, flash mob performances and fan meetups took place in Los Angeles and New York, USA. These events were effective in increasing awareness of YGAESET through direct interaction with local fans.

In South Korea as well, the group appeared on major music shows. YGAESET performed consecutively on KBS 2TV’s “Music Bank” on July 17, MBC’s “Show! Music Core” on the 18th, and SBS’s “Inkigayo” on the 19th. This was a significant moment as it marked the first time YGAESET had appeared on South Korean music shows since its Debut, signaling the official start of its activities as a global girl group in the country.

YGAESET’s inclusion in Billboard’s “21 Under 21” list was based on its collaboration with Missy Elliott, the chart success of “Tweak,” and the members’ direct participation in songwriting.
