HYBE’s TUIDE vs JYP’s OURBIRTHDAY…7 Multinational New Groups Debut Simultaneously

HYBE and JYP are launching seven multinational new girl groups at the same time. INIT ENTERTAINMENT’s OURBIRTHDAY is set to debut on August 19, while HYBE’s Lay label’s TUIDE will make its debut on August 24.

The common feature between the two groups is clear: they each consist of seven members with multinational backgrounds. Both TUIDE and OURBIRTHDAY are made up of members from different nationalities and cultural backgrounds, debuting in the same half of 2026.

However, their regional strategies are completely opposite. TUIDE aims to expand toward the West. It is composed of SEOHEE, born in 2006, along with SEOYEON, ELENA, and JIA, all born in 2008, SAKI born in 2010, and SEA and LEE HONEY, both born in 2011. ELENA has Korean and American backgrounds, LEE HONEY has Korean and British backgrounds, and SAKI is Japanese. Its characteristic is a mixed-race and multicultural composition that spans the West and Asia.

On the other hand, OURBIRTHDAY focuses on an Asian strategy. It includes JO HYEJIN from Korea, BABY from Taiwan, ACHIRAYA from Thailand, YU and KIRARA from Japan, as well as KOOK CHOROK and SHIN HYEWON from Korea. While TUIDE seeks to reach the West, OURBIRTHDAY adopts an Asia-centered lineup aimed at Southeast Asian and Chinese markets.

Their debut strategies also differ. TUIDE will adopt a “full-group one-shot” strategy, with all seven members appearing on stage simultaneously at 6 p.m. on August 24 to introduce their first mini-album, “TUNE & PLAY.” They prepared for this by running their Instagram accounts in private until the debut and only sharing content with pre-selected fans through a “closed fan-building” approach. OURBIRTHDAY is set to debut on August 19.
