Hybe’s New Girl Group Tuide Makes Debut

Hybe’s new girl group Tuide made its Debut on August 24 with its first EP, “Tune & Play.”

This Debut serves as a signal of Hybe’s continued expansion into the K-pop ecosystem, which is gaining influence worldwide. Tuide is the first new group to debut through Hybe’s global label, with its debut album released simultaneously in digital format and as a physical CD.

The EP “Tune & Play” consists of six tracks in total, featuring music across various genres including the Title Track. The group’s Debut stage was streamed online starting at 6 p.m. on August 24. Three new songs were unveiled for the first time during this performance, and a video of the Title Track’s performance was posted on the official social media channels shortly after the Debut.

Tuide’s Debut marks the first group to emerge following Hybe’s announcement in 2024 that it plans to introduce multiple new groups that year. This move demonstrates Hybe’s continuation of the global strategy it established through BTS.

Right after its Debut, Tuide secured top positions on domestic and international music charts. Streaming numbers exceeded 1 million within 24 hours of the Debut, while initial sales of the debut album reached 50,000 copies. Pre-orders for the debut album started at 10 a.m. on August 24, and it sold out just three hours after pre-orders closed.

Tuide’s Debut is attracting attention as an example of a shift in new group Debut strategies within the K-pop industry. Unlike traditional strategies that focus on teaser content prior to a Debut, Tuide gained significant interest even before its release by simultaneously unveiling the musical quality of its debut album and related video content. This indicates that Hybe is adopting a strategic approach toward global markets for its new groups from the very beginning.
