HYBE Posts Quarterly Revenue of 1.45 Trillion Won Driven by BTS’s Comeback

HYBE achieved quarterly revenue of 1.45 trillion won and operating income of 170.9 billion won in the second quarter of this year, thanks to BTS’s comeback and their world tour. This revenue figure represents a 105.5% increase compared to the same period last year, while operating income rose by 159.3%. Net profit also climbed to 109.8 billion won, marking a 613% increase and setting a new record for the quarter.

It was the first time either quarterly revenue exceeded 1 trillion won or operating income surpassed 100 billion won. By segment, concert-related revenue reached 647.7 billion won, followed by 326.8 billion won from album and music streaming sales. The MD and licensing division also hit a quarterly high of 310.6 billion won. With an operating margin of 11.8%, HYBE maintained profitability despite achieving more than double the revenue growth seen in the same period last year.

BTS launched their “Arirang” world tour in April, the largest in K-pop history. They further solidified their status as global icons by performing at the halftime show of the World Cup final on the 20th of last month, the first time such an event had featured them.

In addition to BTS, other artists under HYBE—including TOMORROW X TOGETHER, ENHYPEN, IVE, BOYNEXTDOOR, TWS, and CORTIS—released albums in the first half of the year, all of which became million-sellers according to Circle Chart data. The increased tour activities of ENHYPEN, LE SSERAFIM, BOYNEXTDOOR, KATSEYE, and CORTIS also contributed to higher MD sales.

The growth momentum of the fan platform Weverse was equally prominent. In the second quarter, Weverse’s monthly average active users (MAU) stood at 14.43 million, maintaining its record-high level from the first quarter. Overall payment amounts and average revenue per paid user (ARPPU) increased by 12% and 24%, respectively.
