BTS Wins Artist of the Year at AMA Awards

BTS received the Artist of the Year award at the 52nd American Music Awards (AMA). This marks their second victory in this category following their win in 2021, during which they performed a special live set at the event in Las Vegas and claimed three total awards. To date, BTS has won a total of 14 awards from this ceremony.

The event took place on May 25, Memorial Day Monday, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Queen Latifah served as the host, and the show was broadcast live via CBS and Paramount+. The AMA is considered the world’s largest fan-voted award show.

At this event, BTS won three awards: Artist of the Year, Song of the Summer, and Best Male K-Pop Artist. In 2021, BTS became the first Korean artist to win the Artist of the Year category, and this victory represents their second win in the same category. Previous winners of this award were Bruno Mars in 2017 and BTS in 2021, with BTS adding their name to the list once again at this event.

Many artists making their first nominations at the ceremony won awards. KATSEYE and SOMBR each won three awards, while Sabrina Carpenter received Album of the Year, Best Female Pop Artist, and Best Pop Album on her debut AMA stage. Bruno Mars claimed three awards: Best Male R&B Artist, Best R&B Song, and Best R&B Album.

EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and REI AMI all celebrated their first AMA wins. Among them, EJAE won a total of four awards, including Song of the Year, Best Vocal Performance, Best Pop Song, and Best Soundtrack.
