BTS’s Jungkook Wins First Place in Both “Most Surprising Charm” and “Best K-Pop Performer” Categories in Global Voting

BTS’s Jungkook claimed first place in both the “Most Surprising Charm” and “Best K-Pop Performer” categories during a global fan voting event, further solidifying his international standing as a solo artist.

In the “K-Pop’s Most Surprising Charm Artist” vote held from January 22 to February 12 on the global K-Pop fandom platform HIGHER, Jungkook received 29,888 votes, securing first place with an overwhelming 44% of the total votes. As a reward, his video was displayed at the Yeongdeungpo Times Square Art Canvas.

On stage, Jungkook captivates fans worldwide with his youthful yet powerful vocals, charisma, and flawless live performances. His first solo fan concert and first solo world tour, “#RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR,” which took place across 9 cities in 18 shows from June 28 to August 10 of last year, set a new record for the best-performing Asian soloist in Pollstar’s “Global Concert Tour Top 20.” He also achieved a new record for Asian soloists on Billboard’s Top Tour Monthly chart last July and returned to the chart in August, setting another Billboard record as the Korean solo artist with the highest earnings from a European tour.

At the strong request of fans who failed to secure tickets, Jungkook held encore performances at the Incheon Munhak Gymnasium main stadium on October 31 and November 1 of last year, delivering spectacular live shows that moved audiences deeply. His world tour received top praise not only from fans but also from leading international media outlets. The British magazine Rolling Stone awarded his world tour a perfect 5 stars, describing him as “truly one-of-a-kind and an unparalleled entertainer.” The American outlet analyzed his wide vocal range and high-note control, noting that he delivered stable performances even on complex high notes, while the French magazine Le Mouv’ praised his humor and stage presence as a perfect gift to his fans.

Additionally, in the “Best K-Pop Performer” category of the “2025 Global Fans’ Choice Awards (GFCA)” jointly hosted by Spotv News and the fan voting platform STARDOM, Jungkook received 82% of the total 5,847 votes, far surpassing his competitors to claim the top spot. The voting took place over a period of about two months, from December 9, 2025, to February 2, 2026, and was determined solely by votes from fans around the world.

As a solo artist, Jungkook continues to achieve remarkable success on various international stages. He won the Male Popularity Award at the 40th Golden Disc Awards, took first place as Best Solo Artist at the “Kstyle Awards” hosted by the Japanese K-pop media outlet Kstyle, and won both “Record of the Year” and “Top 20 Songs of the Year” at the “2025 Asian Pop Music Awards (APMA).” He was honored as “International Hit Song of the Year” at the “BreakTudo Awards 2025” in São Paulo, Brazil, and was named “2025 K-Pop Artist” for the second consecutive year by Mexico’s House Radio.
