BLACKPINK Releases “DEADLINE” After 3 Years and 5 Months

BLACKPINK released their third mini-album, “DEADLINE,” on the 27th of last month. This is their first new release in approximately 3 years and 5 months since their second studio album, “BORN PINK,” in 2022. The album includes the previously released track “JUMP” along with five other songs: the Title Track “GO,” “Me and My,” “Champion,” and “Fxxxboy.”

The Title Track “GO” embodies BLACKPINK’s signature positive and confident energy. It features a powerful sound and an addictive melody, delivering a message of courage and unity through the group chant “GO! BLACKPINK’ll make ya.”

This song marks an important milestone for BLACKPINK because it is the first track in which all four members—Jennie, Rosé, Jisoo, and Lisa—contributed to the lyrics. This decision reflects equal recognition of the four members’ musical talents while emphasizing their identity as a group.

YG Entertainment described “DEADLINE” as music that showcases the individual charms and skills of each member, featuring a variety of styles and genres. It is also described as a work that proves BLACKPINK’s musical evolution. “JUMP,” a pre-release single issued on July 11, 2025, debuted at number 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart. It demonstrated the group’s global popularity by recording 123 million streams and 14,000 units sold in its first week.

Since their Debut in August 2016, BLACKPINK has established themselves as one of the most influential K-pop groups. “DEADLINE” represents another turning point in BLACKPINK’s musical career, reflecting their approach of balancing individual activities with group performances.
