BLACKPINK Records 3.6 Billion Streams on Melon Over 10 Years of Debut

BLACKPINK has accumulated 3.6 billion streams on the domestic music platform Melon during its 10-year debut period. Of these, 2.56705 billion streams came from group songs, while 1.03169 billion streams came from the solo tracks of each of the four members.

Ten of the group’s songs have reached over 100 million plays. The most streamed song is “Like That,” with 269 million plays, followed by “DDU-DU DDU-DU” and “Playing With Fire,” both of which exceeded 200 million plays. “Love Sick Girls,” “How You Like That,” “Forever Young,” “Whistle,” “Kill This Love,” “Pink Venom,” “Shutdown,” and “Boombayah” also all surpassed 100 million plays.

A total of 12 songs by BLACKPINK have ranked within the top 10 of Melon’s daily chart, and when adding up all the days these songs spent in the top 10, the total reaches 916 days. “Love Sick Girls” stayed in the top 10 for the longest time at 159 days, while the most recently released song, “JUMP,” stayed there for 142 days. Including “How You Like That” (109 days) and “DDU-DU DDU-DU” (108 days), four songs in total have remained in the top rankings for over 100 days.

All six of BLACKPINK’s albums have also reached over 100 million plays. “SQUARE UP” has 503 million plays, “THE ALBUM” has 336.2 million plays, “SQUARE TWO” has 33.7 million plays, “BORN PINK” has 288.2 million plays, “SQUARE ONE” has 259.2 million plays, and “KILL THIS LOVE” has 253.2 million plays. Notably, despite being a full-length album, every song on “BORN PINK” ranked within Melon’s top 100 chart.

The individual activities of the four members are also notable. Jennie has accumulated 437.06 million streams, Rosé has 418.59 million streams, Jisoo has 119.93 million streams, and Lisa has 56.72 million streams. When combined, these four members’ streams total 1.03169 billion.

Among the solo songs, Jennie’s title track from her first solo album, “SOLO,” has the highest number of plays at 179.59 million. The collaboration between Rosé and Bruno Mars, “APT,” has reached 133.15 million plays. “APT” by Rosé stayed within Melon’s daily chart top 10 for 200 days, while Jennie’s “Like Jenny” stayed there for 122 days. In terms of individual activity, Rosé ranked in the top 10 for 329 days, Jennie for 322 days, and Jisoo for 98 days, resulting in a total of 1,711 days spent in the top 10.

BLACKPINK debuted in August 2016 and entered Melon’s annual chart that same year with songs “Whistle” and “Playing With Fire.” Later in 2018, “DDU-DU DDU-DU” reached the sixth position on the country’s annual chart, marking their highest ranking to date.
