Thailand’s premier global music market, “Bangkok Music City,” will hold a large-scale music showcase festival from January 24 to 25 at the Charoenkrung Creative District in Bangkok.
This event serves as Thailand’s first international music conference and showcase festival, with a lineup featuring 86 artists from 16 countries, including those from South Korea. Designed beyond the scope of a typical music festival, Bangkok Music City functions as a business platform where creativity meets commercial opportunities, acting as a bridge to connect emerging Asian artists with opportunities in the global music industry.
The festival, which includes a total of 8 stages, is free to attend. However, “Priority Lane” tickets, allowing access at closer distances to the stages, are available for 350 baht. Business infrastructure for this event was established through collaboration with global partners such as the Korea Content Agency (KOCCA).
The “Korea Spotlight” stage, intended to showcase the essence of Korean popular music, is expected to serve as a key venue to introduce top-tier Korean musicians to music industry professionals in Southeast Asia and abroad. Five groups will perform on this stage, including the globally popular SHAUN, along with OWAVE, 87dance, Animal Divers, and Milena, delivering their unique sounds.
An official from the Thailand Tourism Authority stated, “This ‘Korea Spotlight’ will function as a strategic platform to introduce the diversity of Korean music to local media and industry professionals.” They added, “By including business roundtables and networking sessions alongside performances, this event will help artists diversify their paths to entering international markets.”
