aespa’s Second Full Album “Lemonade” Achieves Global Success

aespa captured the global music market with the release of their second full album, “Lemonade.” The album topped the iTunes “Top Albums” chart in 19 countries and also reached high positions on major streaming platforms such as QQ Music and Line Music.

This new release, coming approximately two years after their first full album “Armageddon,” features Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning. The title track “Lemonade” is an electronic dance song based on synth beats that adds a refreshing sour flavor to aespa’s signature metallic sound. Karina stated, “Through ‘Lemonade,’ we added a strong sour element to our iconic metallic sound,” adding that she hopes this album brings fresh energy during the summer.

Another title track, “WDA,” features G-Dragon of BIGBANG as a guest performer. It is a hip-hop-inspired track characterized by grand synth sounds and a powerful hook, demonstrating aespa’s expansion of their musical scope. Winter said, “This album showcases aespa’s evolving concept and expanded musical range,” explaining that each track reveals different facets of the group. Giselle mentioned, “The message of this album is turning difficult situations into different kinds of energy,” while Ningning described it as “a sour drink, but aespa’s Lemonade is fun and playful.”

The central theme of the album is rebellion, self-protection, and staying true to oneself. Since their Debut in 2020, aespa has built a global fanbase through hits like “Whiplash” and “Supernova.” With the release of this album, they continue to grow by further expanding their musical spectrum.

The album also ranked first on the Hanteo Chart’s weekly World and Album charts and achieved high streaming numbers on Spotify’s Global chart. aespa is currently on tour with SYNK : COMPLæXITY, with a performance scheduled at The O2 Arena in London on the 16th.
