BLACKPINK’s LISA Becomes First K-Pop Artist as Official Member of Met Gala Host Committee

K-pop’s presence at the Met Gala has reached a new milestone. BLACKPINK’s LISA is set to serve as one of the official Host Committee members at this year’s event, marking her as the first K-pop artist to hold such a position. Notably, having made her debut at the Met Gala in 2025, LISA achieved this accomplishment just one year later.

This year’s Met Gala is themed “Celebrating Art,” and LISA will participate as part of the official Host Committee. She previously drew attention at the 2025 Met Gala by wearing a Louis Vuitton sheath dress. In 2026, her outfit designed by Robert Wun was recognized as one of the finest fashion pieces of the evening.

K-pop stars have been attending the Met Gala since 2013. PSY and Super Junior’s Siwon were the first K-pop artists to appear there, followed by RAIN in 2015. Since then, members from various groups such as BLACKPINK, Seventeen, and GOT7 have taken the stage. In 2024, Stray Kids’ Bang Chan, Han, Felix, Seungmin, Hyunjin, I.N, Lee Know, and Changbin made history by becoming the first K-pop group to attend the event.

Multiple BLACKPINK members attended the 2025 Met Gala. Jennie wore a custom satin monochrome ensemble from Chanel, which took 330 hours to create, while Rosé appeared in a black suit from Saint Laurent. Additionally, Seventeen’s S.Coups, as a global ambassador for BOSS, donned a gray tailored ensemble inspired by Hanbok. All members of BLACKPINK attended the 2026 Met Gala under the “Costume Art” theme. Jisoo made her debut appearance at the event, attracting attention with a custom pink floral gown from Christian Dior. Jennie showcased a mermaid-style gown from Chanel, and Rosé displayed elegance in a high slit gown from Saint Laurent. Ejae, a K-pop singer and Oscar-winning composer, also attended wearing a custom gown from Swarovski.
