BLACKPINK’s Jisoo Declares Firm Legal Action in Response to Scandal Involving Her Elder Brother

BLISU, the agency representing BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, has announced a firm legal response to the recent family-related scandal.

Jisoo’s elder brother, identified as A, was arrested on the spot on the 14th for attempting inappropriate physical contact with a woman. The police applied for an arrest warrant against him, but the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office rejected it, stating that the charges were not sufficiently substantiated.

As speculation online spread that this individual was Jisoo’s elder brother, Hyunho Eun from Kim & Chang Law Firm, who represents BLISU, issued an official statement on the 20th clarifying that “the current issues have absolutely no connection to the artist or BLISU.” BLISU further stated that “many of the claims circulating online are unverified speculation or outright false information.”

Regarding Jisoo’s relationship with her family, they explained that “Jisoo started her trainee career at a young age and became independent early on, living apart from her family for a long time. As such, she is unable to be aware of or interfere in this person’s private life.” They also addressed the claim that Jisoo’s elder brother was involved in BLISU’s management by saying, “Although limited advice was sought from family members during the preparation phase of establishing BLISU for consultation purposes, no family member has ever received payment from BLISU or participated in decision-making to date.”

They explicitly denied claims circulating online such as “the artist and this person founded BLISU together” or “this person is part of BLISU’s management team or CEO,” stating that “these are completely false, and this person currently has no legal or managerial relationship with BLISU at all.”

Additionally, they emphasized that “BLISU and the artist are providing no financial or legal support to this person, nor do they plan to do so in the future.” The agency stated it “intends to take all possible civil and criminal legal actions immediately” against those who spread false information, associate the artist’s name, image, or likeness with unrelated matters, or report speculative content without fact-checking. They specifically warned that “they will take firm action against malicious or repeated posters and disseminators without any leniency or compromise.”

Meanwhile, aware of the fallout from the scandal, Jisoo abruptly canceled her scheduled airport departure interview on the 22nd. She was originally planned to showcase her airport fashion in front of the media before departing from Incheon International Airport for Paris, France, but her PR agency canceled the schedule due to “unavoidable internal circumstances.”
