Lisa Makes Her Hollywood Acting Debut via Netflix Action Film “Tygo”

Lisa of BLACKPINK is set to make her feature film debut through Netflix’s movie “Tygo.” “Tygo” is a South Korean spin-off of the “Extraction” franchise starring Chris Hemsworth, marking the first time a K-pop idol has been cast in a major Hollywood action franchise.

The “Extraction” franchise is a series of action films that feature high-stakes rescue missions across the world. This universe, established through the 2020 release of “Extraction” and “Extraction 2” in 2023, now gains a story set in South Korea.

“Tygo” tells the story of a former child soldier who transforms into a mercenary and seeks revenge in South Korea’s underworld after a failed mission. Don Lee (Ma Dong-seok) plays the lead character Tygo. The film captures the precision and energy of South Korean action movies, representing South Korean style on the international action film stage.

Lisa portrays a character named Ria in “Tygo.” This casting serves as a significant example demonstrating the potential for K-pop idols to enter the global entertainment industry.

South Korea is well-known for action movies that have received high praise at international film festivals, such as “The Man from Nowhere” (2010) and “I Saw the Devil” (2010). “Tygo” continues this tradition of South Korean action cinema while also functioning as part of Netflix’s global franchise.

Lisa is currently working on multiple projects simultaneously. BLACKPINK concluded their “Deadline World Tour” in January 2026, after which the members began focusing on their individual projects. Lisa is working on her second solo album while also participating in the filming of “Tygo,” balancing her musical and acting activities.
