LE SSERAFIM Records Historic High with 430,000 Copies Sold in First Day for Second Full Album

LE SSERAFIM, composed of Kim Chae-won, Sakura, Heo Yoon-jin, Kazuha, and Hong Eun-chae, released Part 1 of their second full album, “PUREFLOW,” globally at 1 p.m. on the 22nd. The music video for the title track “BOOMPALA” was also unveiled simultaneously.

The album sold a total of 435,675 copies on its release day alone, securing the top spot on the daily album chart. This represents the highest first-day sales figure among fourth-generation K-pop girl groups that debuted in 2026. Even when considering all girl group albums, it ranks as the second-best result behind BLACKPINK.

The album also performed strongly on global music and album charts. It immediately reached third place on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart upon release. As of 9 a.m. on the 23rd, it had entered the iTunes Top Albums charts in 27 countries and regions worldwide, including Singapore, France, and Japan, with it also making it into the top 10 in 20 countries and regions such as Mexico, Canada, and Italy.

The title track “BOOMPALA” is a Latin pop song that skillfully samples the familiar melody lines from the globally successful hit “Macarena.” It combines an unforgettable, highly addictive beat with rhythmic lyrics.

“BOOMPALA” debuted at 20th place on the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart on its release day. The track also secured positions in the top tiers of the iTunes Top Songs charts in 21 countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan. It performed well on YouTube as well, entering the Rising Trend charts in 27 countries and regions, including South Korea (11th), the United States (7th), and Japan (4th).

This second full album marks their first release in approximately three years. LE SSERAFIM debuted on May 2, 2022, and recently celebrated their fourth anniversary. The five members, who expressed fearless confidence through their debut track “FEARLESS,” delve deeply into the emotional changes and inner growth they experienced while continuing from their previous activities through this album. After receiving massive popularity with their first single album “SPAGHETTI” last year, they are now launching new activities in 2026 with this second full album.
