Kim So-hyun and Song Kang to Reunite After 5 Years via Web Novel Adaptation “White Scandal”

Actors Kim So-hyun and Song Kang are considering casting offers for the romance drama “White Scandal,” which is based on a web novel. This marks their first collaboration together in five years, since appearing in Netflix’s series “It Rings When I Like You” in 2021.

PEACHY, Kim So-hyun’s agency, stated on the 24th that she is reviewing an offer for “White Scandal.” Song Kang’s agency, NAMU ACTORS, also confirmed through an official statement that he is considering a similar offer. Kim So-hyun has been cast as Ji-eun-seol, the protagonist who was once a child star but fell from grace after being framed for her brother’s crime. She now works as a road manager before meeting Dan Yi-hyuk, the top actor and illegitimate son of NB Group, who proposes a fake relationship to her.

“White Scandal” is adapted from the original web novel by writer Mun Chae-ah. The story follows Ji-eun-seol, who once was a promising child star but plummeted in popularity after being blamed for her brother’s crime. While working as a road manager, she encounters Dan Yi-hyuk, the key figure behind the past incident, and they begin a fake relationship to uncover long-buried secrets.

The script was written by Kim Ga-eun, who penned “Say It’s Love,” while director Kim Chul-kyu, known for “Mother” and “Flower of Evil,” will handle directing. The project is currently in the casting phase, with a release date yet to be determined.

Song Kang completed his military service in October of last year and is currently filming the music drama “Four Hands.” If he accepts “White Scandal,” it will be his first romance drama since leaving the military.
