American Idol Contestant Caleb Flynn Charged with Additional Murder Charge

Caleb Flynn, who appeared on season 12 of American Idol, has been charged with additional offenses related to the death of his wife, Ashley Flynn. Prosecutors stated in these new charges that the murder was “intentional and premeditated.”

In February, Caleb called 911 and reported that his wife, Ashley Flynn, had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the head at the hands of an intruder. Ashley Flynn worked as a middle school volleyball coach and was found at their home in Tipp City, Ohio. However, during the investigation, police shifted their focus to Caleb. Three days after the shooting, 39-year-old Caleb was arrested and charged with one count of murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and two counts of tampering with evidence. He pleaded not guilty to all initial charges and intends to plead not guilty to the new accusations as well.

According to the new indictment filed in court on March 18, prosecutors claim Caleb killed his wife in an “intentional and premeditated” manner. Two additional counts of harassment were added, with prosecutors alleging that Caleb acted with the intent to threaten crime witnesses or those who might provide evidence. Caleb’s attorney stated, “The indictment is merely a document informing him of the charges against him,” adding, “He is prepared to defend himself against these accusations in court.”
