KPop Demon Hunters Translated to Reality with Global World Tour

Netflix is bringing the Oscar-winning animated film “KPop Demon Hunters,” released in June last year, to the real world. On the 14th, through its official Twitter account, Netflix announced that it is developing and producing a global tour in collaboration with AEG Presents.

This tour will offer a live experience that replicates the scenes from the Huntrix concerts depicted in the film. Netflix stated, “AEG and Netflix are bringing the magic of Huntrix to concert venues close to you,” adding that fans will be able to feel the golden energy firsthand. The company also said it will create a live experience that “brings the elements of the film to life in an amazing way.”

Amy Linhard, Netflix’s head of advertising, said, “No other work has captured global attention like KPop Demon Hunters. To this day, it remains Netflix’s most popular film.” She continued, “This tour is designed to allow fans to experience their favorite characters and music up close.”

In the film, the vocalists of the girl group Huntrix—Jae, Audrey, and Lay—performed a special show at the 98th Academy Awards where the movie won the Song of the Year award. They also made a surprise appearance at Coachella Festival last April alongside the group KATSEYE, generating significant buzz.

“KPop Demon Hunters” is an animated story about the girl group Huntrix, who protect the human world from evil spirits. It won the Animated Feature Award at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards last year and the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in March of this year. The OST song “Golden” secured wins for Song of the Year at both the Golden Globe and Academy Awards, as well as the Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media. Since its release, it has remained on Netflix’s list of the top 10 most-watched English-language films worldwide for 47 consecutive weeks, continuing to spark a massive phenomenon.

The specific lineup for the tour has not been announced yet, and the dates and cities where it will take place are set to be revealed within this year. News of a sequel to the film was also released in March, further increasing fans’ expectations.
