Park Jin-young to Release “WET” on the 23rd as the Main Theme Song for Waterbom 2026

Park Jin-young will release his new single “WET” on the 23rd. This summer song marks his first release in approximately 6 years since “When We Disco” (a duet with Sunmi in 2020) following his debut in 1994, and it has been chosen as the main theme song for Waterbom 2026, South Korea’s premier summer festival. The solid physique he displayed through photos and online covers released ahead of the release have drawn significant attention.

Park Jin-young will officially release “WET” at 6 p.m. on the 23rd via various online music platforms. He gradually unveiled online covers and teaser clips for the new song’s music video through his official social media channels before the release, and on the afternoon of the 20th, he shared five photos designed to build excitement.

In the photos, Park Jin-young showcased once again the solid physique he featured in the online covers from different angles and poses. The high contrast between light and shadow against a turquoise background made his physique stand out even more clearly, and under lighting designed to convey energy, he demonstrated his iconic status and charisma as a “living legend” through various expressions and detailed gestures.

“WET” is a reggae-themed song that perfectly fits the summer season. The “WET” challenge track released via his official social media before the release featured multiple artists set to perform at this year’s Waterbom festival participating in a relay format, thus heating up the atmosphere long before the event began.

Park Jin-young will perform on stage at Waterbom 2026, which will take place in Seoul on July 26 and in Busan on August 8 this year. Having delivered bold performances at Waterbom 2025 last year, he is expected to put on another intense show this time as well.

Meanwhile, since his debut in 1994, Park Jin-young has maintained his status as a “living legend” with his unique musical style and performances, continuously strengthening his position as both a producer and an artist. He was selected as a member of the Recording Academy, which oversees the Grammy Awards, and in January and March of this year, he was listed on both the “2026 Billboard Power 100” and the “2026 Billboard Global Power Players” lists.
