From Impersonating Park Jin-young to Judging Stray Kids’ Performance, the Unique Bond Between Kim Hyung-muk and JYP

Actor Kim Hyung-muk appeared as a guest on episode 960 of MBC Radio Star, which aired on the 8th, and shared his special connection with Park Jin-young, the chairman of JYP.

During his previous appearance on Radio Star, Kim Hyung-muk gained attention for his accurate impersonation of Park Jin-young, including his speech pattern, expressions, and overall demeanor. Park Jin-young watched that episode himself and reached out first, which led to the formation of their unique bond.

Kim Hyung-muk explained, “Senior Park Jin-young invited me to his concert, so I went to watch the performance,” adding, “We exchanged contact information and have since kept in touch from time to time.”

A special anecdote related to Stray Kids was also revealed. Kim Hyung-muk said he was originally scheduled to serve as a judge alongside Park Jin-young for a KBS New Year’s special program featuring Stray Kids, but because Park Jin-young was busy, Kim Hyung-muk ended up judging alone.

On that stage, Kim Hyung-muk dressed up as Park Jin-young and performed. He recalled, “It was Stray Kids’ solo stage, and the venue was packed with fans. Just as Park Jin-young was supposed to appear as a judge, the intro to ‘Don’t Leave Me’ played, and I stepped onto the stage. I danced in Park Jin-young’s style, and the fans were completely fooled.”

Kim Hyung-muk added, “Even while I was dancing on stage, the fans kept shouting until they saw my face and looked confused.” He also joked, “I’m currently acting in dramas. People who have watched my shows leave comments like, ‘Park Jin-young is good at acting too,’ which makes me laugh.”
